So what is this little guy in the background here?

 

The little fish on the bottom? Or one of the corals in the background? Thinking you're talking about the fish; female Timor Wrasse. There's a male in there as well, you can see him in this pic below the Setosa:

 

yes thats the fish... looks very interesting, i might look into them.
What is the genus? halichoeres?

 

Yessir; halichoeres timorensis.

I had never seen them until this trio popped up on DD. Unfortunately, the trio turned into a pair as one female succumbed to shipping stress. I wasn't able to find much info on them before I got them, but I did think the female was a nice substitute for a Choati, at least in appearance. They've really been a typical halichoeres in behavior for me thus far. Clearly they are not common in the trade.

DD has listed one other trio and a pair, after these. So you might be able to snag one there if you keep your eyes open.
