    Weve got a nikon D70 and i cant get it to focus in the tank! I think it focuses on the glass pr something. Whats the secret? White balance? Weve also got macro lens,

    There is no really secret. Ive read this sticky thread over and over, you sound like you need to practice focusing on an object first. Then white balance and whatnot. I took more than 100 photos in a few hours since I got the lens yesterday evening and I can show you only less than 10. Thats what it takes..

    D70 is a decent DSLR, and with a macro lens, you dont need anything else.

    I have found with my wife's D5000, if I am to close to the glass it wont focus at all. I have to back away a little way and it does just fine.

    I tried to shoot my tank with my dads d5000. I couldn't get anything to come out good. Same problem you had. Couldn't get close enough.

    Probably user error in my case lol
