That spectral simulator is BADA** lol. Never seen a link to that before.

Yeah I get what you are saying. Just depends on what look you want. I personally really like the bluer look. Is your current light dimmable drivers? And I cant beleive thats only 24 LEDS lighting that 90! In the pics it actually looks bright lol.

Now I'm not an expert so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. But I dont think you would want to make it as close as possible to the real suns spectrum. The ocean water filters out certain parts of the light spectrum the deeper you go. Reds and yellows are some of the colors that get filtered out first by the water. The blue spectrum is one of the colors that penetrates the furthest through the water, this is why we run blue actinic lighting. With our tanks being only 2 feet deep, we get basically no filtering, so whatever light we put above our tanks is whatever light the corals get. You want to recreate the light that reaches natural reefs, not the full sunlight.

Yea with car work, I wonder if you still have a bloom coming? Didn't you combine old tank water into this new tank? Maybe that would be why.

Yeah, thats what I did, and I was expecting some diatom from the brand new skimmer, plumbing pipes and whatnot, but virtually none. The rocks were from my old 29 and newer ones were cured for a few months. Now they are getting really purple. Love it.

    Wave action

I was too bored: so here is the short wave action video clip I took today.

Click the pic to see the clip.

The MP40 is set to the Short Pulse Mode (at the strongest flow with the very short pulse). I dont use this mode unless I want to pick up some crap off the bottom of the tank.

I hope you enjoy it (especially insanespain).
