Isn't that an awesome experiment or what?
Im sure that the GFO is as quite effective as other methods. Im not even sure that Id get the same result as others did in their tank. At least you know there is a way to mod the reactor into BP cheap. All you need is pellets and quick run to the local home dept and michael's. :)

I really hope you can get rid of the cyano asap.

It's running 420ml-ish at the moment, with the MaxiJet Utility 1100 pump dialed back by like 45 degrees.

I really hope it keeps being bubbly..

It's been exactly 80 days since I filled up this tank! Coralline algae started to pop up on the back wall.

When I had 29, it was dominated by green coralline, but it's PURPLE this time!! Im using the same rocks and everything.. Im not complaining, but why?? Just happens like this?

    And finally got this:

Im in this hobby for 2 years, only used a hydrometer. Ive been off by like 0.003 (I thought it was 1.025 but it was actually 1.022). People, please get yourself a refractometer now and toss the hydrometer.

Congrats on the refractometer and coralline. Hard to say why the green is not showing this time. RBTA is very small and I hope too that the tips stay bubbly.

Hey John, thanks! Yeah, its so weird that there is no more green coralline. The RBTA was even way smaller when I first got it. Some snails were bigger than the same RBTA!

know what you mean about the refractometer! you never realize until trying one tho.
nice work on the coralline. I have some of the horrible dark green stuff in my nano I wish was purple. If you work out how you did it, dont keep it a secret lol

Thanks, I just quick looked at your nano pics and my green coralline was a bit light in color. I have no idea how they differ from one and another. And Im loving the refractometer. I have been checking the salinity just for fun :)

    Hey,

How are the BPs doing? I've just noticed a really big bloom in coralline on the rocks since about 1 week after starting the BPs. I have dark green and purple, although the purple seems to grow (spread) faster than the green.
