Nope, I didnt know what the heck difference between Kalk and Cal+Alk.. And I read someone saying that he doses Seachem Cal and Buffer and I did exactly what he did when I wanted adjust the param. I used up the Cal right away, but I had the buffer for much later. Now I dose BRS 2part manually: my tank is not stocked at all, so I dose Ca and Alk parts now and then, whatever I think it's necessary.
But I was told that I shouldve been fine with Kalk, and a lot cheaper. This is only my assumption, however, I would like more control over dosing in general, so Id go with 2 part and Mag. When/if I need more Ca, dose it more, the same goes to Alk as well. You dont wanna see the spike in pH.

So, between your weekly waterchanges, how much are you having to dose for?

Not much, really. Every few days, I dose the Ca recipe 1 to raise 10ppm, and the Alk to raise 0.5 dKH or so. To be honest, there is no set routine amount yet when it comes to the big three (Ca, Alk, and Mag). I add the MB7 (5ml) to the new salt mix when I do water change.
