There are too many kinds of controllers on market nowadays. And generations from each manufactures.. hard to keep it up..

Anyways, dont you need a main unit to use a display and/or EB8? Am I missing something? For my set up, Im gonna have 5 drivers to run LEDs so if I think about control-ability, Id need more than 4 power outlet for sure. Just like Doctorgori said, I started to think Apex Controller Lite over Jr.

I think you know about Apex way more than I do, Sean bro! I guess whats making me reluctant is.. the big buck, of course. Its just that more than 10% off of something never gets on sale is really hard to miss out...

It's been 50 days since I put the new rocks in, and they finally started to get some coralline on them, woot! It's green this time.

And yes, Im really hyped about the LED build! Im gonna try to take as many pics as possible. Still waiting on the most of the parts to arrive.

 

I know my wife would brag about the fish always hanging out on the side of the tank that she designed lol. Does yours give you a hard time lol?

 

I guess I got lucky this time but, she goes "Are you guys enjoying the 45 gallon tank? Go that way (to the left), it's a 90" all day long.

 

Sorry, I got the display module from another reefer. He kept the EB8 as he was just upgrading to the Apex Elite. So I was going to buy the EB8 for myself. Never got around to it. The probes (salinity, pH, temp) all plug into the display.

On the other hand, the Apex Jr. doesn't have a display. So probes plug directly into it.

It is all controlled form the computer. For $150, it would be the same price as buying an EB8. I am going to see if I can find the right kind of wire connection for the display/outlets, so I don't have to buy the Neptune's brand (save me some money).

 

See you through me off a bit again. You said Elite but thats for DigitalAquatics (ReefKeeper), right? Like I said there are way too many kinds! LOL

I see, Id get Apex Jr, if I were you then, you can get it up and running in no time. When you come up with some extra cash, you add something you want down the road!

 

I said Apex Elite...getting brands mixed up. I meant the guy got the regular Apex.
