John you pulling his leg? My wife as well really wants our clown in a nem. She is smart though and realized if he wont host a bubble coral he probably isnt into hosting.

The boss is on YouTube and showing me a bunch of vids of RBTA being hosted by clowns. One of our clowns was kind of in the BTA at the LFS, so she is keeping her hopes up.

    Skimmer question.

I have the SWC Xtreme Cone 160. For a week now, that its been acting weird, it seems.
-not collecting as much gunk before
-skimmate is lighter in color. Tea color now
-if I adjust it to wetter side, it dumps in so much bubbles in the collection cup, it even lifts up the lid!

I have been using this 160 for 6 months now, I dont think Ive changed anything to cause this..? Ive cleaned the skimmer in and out a month ago. Ive upgraded the LED and having some brown hair algae bloom on the back wall, however, they seem to be getting less and less. All the coals (SPS, LPS, and softy) are happy.

did you add any chemicals? feeding less? Change any maintenance methods?

it could be that your tank is just cleaner now? As your tank is now more established.

hope you get it figured out! maybe we should start an swc skimmer club thread, I feel like I could learn more about them. I saw one on another forum 20+ pages deep but it got closed down over a year ago, so not much help now.

No chemical was used. Feeding the same amount. But due to the local availability, I was forced to change the salt mix! (Coralife to Seachem)

    Appreciate the input, JB!

I know where to direct you. Read this thread about SWC:

    http://www.3reef.com/forums/general-reef-topics/buyers-beware-126980.html

Very dirty company and the owner is facing $1 million in fines for various reasons. The article for that is posted in that thread. I wouldn't recommend SWC to anybody anymore based on what you will read in the tread I just posted here.
