I think your system is just getting more clean, I had the same thing happen with my skimmer. Do check the impeller to see if it is breaking down. Also check the venturi to see if the air input is getting clogged. Check your air muffler to see if it is getting clogged.

I see, thanks John! I guess makes sense that I didnt have to change the GAC for a month. I'll change it next water change which is tomorrow, just in case.

I have cleaned the skimmer a month ago after 5 months of use, and the air intake was clogged with calcium deposit (?) big time. I will keep in mind to check the pump as well.

I will try the nem and clown pic method, thanks :)

I read that thread a couple days ago too. Pretty bad stuff. I still like my skimmer a lot, you shouldn't feel bad about recommending it to people. Especially before anyone knew about this. I just wish it didn't put money in his pocket. Guess he had to pay for that expensive fence somehow. He'll get what he deserves though

I love my skimmer as well, just wish the SWC owner had kept up with the initial objectives when he started the business. Just sucks.

Thanks, Atticus! Now that I have pretty much everything to have all the SPS like yours, I can start thinking about loading up with themLOL

Just did the major end of the year clean up. There are soooo much crap in the sump and cleaned the skimmer too. The skimmer air intake was getting clogged again, hopefully itll take care of the issue. Logan, did you figure out the rusty looking skimmate issue?

I'm pretty sure it was because I turned the flow up to get my gfo tumbling, and gave it too much. The water in the reactor got cloudy from the particles and it released some into the water. Best guess I have anyway?
