Hell yes, wrasses all the way! Hunter is pretty much the wrasse master, I can't tell you how many random calls I've made trying to ID different wrasses, and hes never freaking wrong! LOL.

Your catching up pretty quick! Now just stock the hell out of it with SPS :cheesy:

I like the flasher wrasses myself. I have a McCosker's and it is beautiful. I know somebody else that has a Carpenters that looks amazing as well. They are both a type of Flasher Wrasse.

    This is the McCosker's

I read his thread about wrasses and VERY informative. But there is no way that I can memorize all the name at once, I will start asking questions :)

The thing is the boss is not into SPS too much and She wants more fish/LPS..

I love those flashers, they're unreal. The pic is your McCosker's, correct? Does it have a pointy dorsal fin? Does it hide a lot?

That's how my mom is. She thinks sps are just colored rocks and Lps are anemones.

It hid for about the first 24 - 36 hours. Now all he does is swim around with my other fish. He does have a pointed dorsal fin as well. Very awesome fish. This one only cost $50, but I have seen other flasher wrasse's going for $150 I believe.

I think most girls are like that:( They like the "movement." My girl for example hates fuzzy sticks, but that's why I just started with a few, and sllloooowllly sold off the LPS 1 piece at a time until it was filled. :sneaky:

I just had her help pick out the pieces so she was into them, and then boom full SPS reef, and a happy lady!

On a realistic note, I've tried 2 flashers, and IME you have to be careful with them. Even though they are listed as "peaceful" some have major attitude problems. I had a carpenter's think he was the boss even after day one and just attack all fish all the time, and a McCosker's that was little satan. Even Travis had trouble with a very aggressive McCosker's that he had to remove. However, these are experiences in a tank that is 90%+ wrasse filled, so that may be why we had that experience.

That is a good way to make a happy lady lol. YOu have to include the boss lol, or it makes it very difficult to spend money on the tank.

I have read that some wrasse's don't do good together just like goby's I believe. This is the only wrasse I plan on having. I do know somebody that has I believe a pink striped wrasse and a carpenter's flasher wrasse with no issues. I think the key to keeping the peace with wrasse's is to only have one if in a smaller community. ;D

    LOL

Im kinda afraid to ask the price at my LFS lol. But their mandarins (possibly ORA) being not so expensive $35, I might have a good luck? They receive fair amount of fish shipments, but they sell really quick. I really doubt that there are that many people into this hobby in this small town?

I personally want the tank to be SPS dominated all the way, but I should embrace the diversity, right?
See, you're scaring me about the flashers now...

I just read the wrasse thread, and I didn't see where there are any issues in the very first post. I didn't read the whole thread yet though. ;D I know mine hasn't caused any issues yet. I have had him since December 30th. Maybe not enough time to judge yet, but I love him. They are jumpers though, so your tank has to have some type of cover on it. ;D
