I do agree on the captive bred mandarins, the success rate is a lot higher. The trouble though is usually not the initial introduction (14 day guarantee) that kills them. It is how fast they metabolize food, they need to be on a high quality diet (read; flake or pellet) to survive long term, and it is their slow moving call it "grazing" habits that don't allow them to compete for food.

I think one of the smartest moves I have seen when dealing with new mandarins is to create a small water bottle feeding zone for them in order to keep more aggressive fish from out eating them.

Here's a great link for what I am talking about:

Good luck to you! I hope you find something awesome!:cheesy:

Just got back from LFS and I got
    2x firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica)
    7x hermit crabs
    5x turbo snails

I saw a yellow wrasse priced at $69 (Halichoeres chrysus). I wasnt sure if it was OK for me so I had to pass this time. It looked pretty tho.

And good news! I talked to the owner, who just happened to be there today, said he can get the ORA mandarin for me @$39! How cool is that??

That is insanely high for that wrasse:eek: 20 bucks is what they go for on la, and about 30 in stores. You would be fine with it, it's a great fish, but I would make sure you want it as it is "semi-reef safe"

    Congrats on the adds!!
