ahhh I miss skiing, I used to ski all the time on the east coast but skiing in the midwest is pretty much non existent.

I actually stopped dosing Vodka when the tank started turning bad, I think that i may have been overdosing, I tried to follow the right dosing but my tank volume is so low that I may have overdone it accidentally. I am thinking of doing biopellets instead now. I have a diy CO2 reactor I built for my freshwater tank ahile back so I think I may convert for a biopellet reactor instead.

In my understanding with regards to PH swings... its normal for the tank to fluctuate a couple tenths from day to night. Thats why people have fuges with opposite photoperiods as their DT... it stabalizes the PH drop at night. However, with people that utilize carbon dosing and have no need for a fuge, it's a little more difficult.

I use a reef buffer to keep my PH relatively stable. Big swings are what you want to avoid, like going from 7.8 in the am to 8.4 in the pm. A swing from 8.1 to 8.3 is (IMO) fine.

How much are you swinging from before lights on to just before lights off?

Thanks Sacul for your input, I feel better now :)

This is the pH chart right now and the past 24 hours:

As you can see, right after the lights out at 8:30pm, the pH starts to go down till 1:00am. The royal blue comes back on at 9:30am. The difference is 0.18, so I guess its not that bad?
