Looking at the graph, I'm also guessing you have a programmable thermostat on your home and the heater comes on around 5AM or so?

No I hate to sweat over night, the heater rarely comes on before 10:00am. The house thermostat is set to 61 degrees, I think.

Eh, fine. I was trying to illustrate a point, but you shot it down. :p

It's all about gas exchange, and really O2/CO2 exchange. As the level of dissolved oxygen drops, so does pH. This is what happens when your lights go out, and all the photosynthetic life in the tank goes from expiration to respiration, taking up the dissolve oxygen and raising the dissolved CO2, driving the pH down. This is why pH is highest at the end of your lighting period (as it should be). One way to raise pH is fresh air. Hence why I was thinking your heater might be kicking on at 5AM. Regardless, your daily pH change is normal and fine. :)

Sorry Hunter.. I didnt mean it that way.. LOL

Just want to get the alk dosing in the regular schedule (manually). But after I became able to track the pH, I started freaking out. Perfect example of "ignorance is bliss."

Exactly! So that's why the opposite fuge lighting would be beneficial. When the Photosynthetic action stops in the corals when the lights go off, the fuge light comes on, taking its
    except with plants not coral.

Yeah I knew how the reverse photo method works. But I dont have a functioning fuge.

Considering you're only fluctuating 0.16, I see nothing concerning. That's not all that much.

Dosing Alk should keep it a bit more stable, but you might not see a drastic change from what you're currently getting. Some people only dose Alk during the night, and you can see why. That's certainly a strategy you can take if this concerns you.

    And no worries, BTW. :)

Hey mister fancy guy with the Apex controller on his Iphone (it's low on battery, btw)... ;)

Try running the skimmer air intake out from under your tank via extra length of tube. That'll also give you some fresh air.

And 11pm? Good lord, dont you have kids? If I'm up 'till 11, I'm a very grumpy papa bear the next morning at 6:30am when my kids start calling...

    Oh shush! LOL

I think the skimmer is getting too much air. Wouldnt this give more air? But this got me thinking, what happens if I plug the air intake tube? Im gonna try it, thanks Sacul!

LOL! My kid (3 year old) doesnt wake up till 8:00 am, but I go to bed right around 11:00pm.
