    No, the tube would only give it fresh air, not more. Think about it; the skimmer is pulling in air just a few inches from the cup, where the air is expelled. So eventually, the same air in the sump is getting recycled through your skimmer. Venting the airtube outside the sump will constantly draw in fresh, and oxygen rich, air.

    [STRIKE]Sorry no comparison pic.[/STRIKE] Edit: found the pic :) Used to be dark brown as you can see in the first one, now bright green at the growth and slight pink tint. Fuzzy guy :)
