I love that stylo...it is so fuzzy.

so how much of a difference do you notice with the wider spectrum? How do you define ripen up?

Lets see.. they all got colorful. The green nobilis acro was losing its color, was becoming yellowish brown even tho it was acclimated and under the direct light (1:1 royal blue and cool white LEDs). Now he is fuzzier than ever and metallic green. The green slimer is more and more green as well.

I hope this makes sense.

 

It does...I am glad you are getting awesome colors but not quite what I wanted to hear (he says selfishly) since I just got a 1:1 RB and CW set-up haha .

I may have to squeeze some wider spectrum led's onto my fixture!

Dont get me wrong, Ive seen a lot of tanks with 1:1 RB and CW fixtures having great success. I just would like to prove that the ripen up effect of UVs on shallow SPSs. So, when you get a chance, try adding some UVs especially 420nm, at least 6 of them for your 20G.

I definitely have room to add some UV's in the future though. I could probably attach 3 to each existing driver...or do you think it would be better to have them on their own driver?
