    Hello to all!
I am new to saltwater. I have a new 55 gallon with protein skimmer with one powerhead attached and one extra one behind my 25 lbs. of live rock. My tank was set up in September. I added about an inch of fine sand (maybe an oops because my water is more cloudy that I want) It's getting more clear with every water change that I do once a week. I added 2 clown fish about 3 weeks ago which seem to be very happy and digging little holes in the sand here and there.
I have discovered a "starfish" about 2 weeks ago. Maybe from the live rock. I hope it is not harmful. It is about the size of my thumbnail and has 3 long points on top with 4 smaller points on the bottom. It's about the same color as my live rock.
I think I am going to add something this weekend, possibly a "savenger." Don't know yet.
My goal is to have a "reef tank with a few colorful fish," but I may have to change depending on what I learn. I would love to have a blue starfish that I saw on "Tanked" on TV, but have yet to do enough research about it.

Is this the first official Tanked convert?! Awesome! Glad you are here. You will learn way more on here than the show. Dont be afraid to ask questions. And Good Luck!

btw, your cloudiness from the sand will settle down.
