Nice tanks Matt. And for this thread I just thought it would be cool to know what were dealing with here on 3reef ;). Its because of threads like this one that you know when you (Matt), BirdlLady or some others say something you should listen cause of all the experience you guys have. :D

My brother owns a pet store for 20+ years now. I started working there at the age of 12 and worked there until I was 22. The store primarily deals in fresh water so I became somewhat of a freshwater expert. I always had a planted tank with discus. In fact my 90 gallon reef tank was once a heavily planted discus tank.
So I guess I have around 15 years of tank experience.

    cool thread.

I started with FW in 1973 at age 12. By the time I was 17, I had a bedroom that looked like a LFS with 10-15 tanks. I was breeding about everything out there and selling to the area LFS. I also had my first SW tank, a FO for about six months. Pretty much lost all interest at that point. Sports and girls became my priorities.

Got back into it by accident about 3 years ago when I set up a small Betta tank for my wife. The bug bit again and within a couple years I was breeding African Cichlids. Had to move with the job to NE Ohio and started my first reef last Sep, a 30 long. I am now moving all of its occupants to a 55G and I will make the 30 a FW planted tank.

My reef learning curve has been steep, but I am really enjoying the process. Once I get this thing right I will post pics.

Ive had my own saltwater tanks for well over 7 years, FW about the same time....I got into reef after my dad took down his 180 and I had nothing to play with about 4 years ago....went full blown about 3 years ago on nano-reefs after i went diving off electric beach. Also 5+ years in fish and pet stores. I want to work at a distributor and eventually get into field work of the industry...hence the marine science courses.
