I am not sure but that the external box will defeat the purpose of the Bean overflow. If you want to remove the pipes for moving the tanks why not use unions as they are designed for this purpose.

Hey Starfire...I am a bit confused about the external box you speak of...Do you have a drawing put together yet...or you still in the brain storm phase.. throw something up here, I'd like to see where your going..especially before you drill...but it sounds like a great plan..just would like to see it before I offer you any advice. : )

I've seen other people do the internal c2c weir then have the box for the Bean attached to the back and works perfectly well is just a way to save internal space.

No, no drawing yet, will try and hand sketch one up as I have not mastered google sketch up or any other such program. I'll try and describe it better for now.
External box w/BeanAnimal set up coming up from the bottom...on the side 2 holes to match up to 2 in the tank through which you use a bulkhead to attach the box (if needed can use a gasket on both sides of the bulkhead).

the use of gaskets/seals are an excepted method for water tight bulkheads...to answer your question....but you won't want to be removing them a lot...they will tend to start leaking... imo.
Try using Microsoft word and just use shapes..squares, rectangles...or use "paint"..same thing...squares and rectangles, you should be able to put something together...it helps me when building..to look at it...as I plan it. : )

That should work if you use enough bulkheads for outflow. I agree with lillysgrandad that you want to remove the bulkheads as little as possible. See if you can get extra gaskets if you plan on moving the tank often. You will need a gasket on the c2c side of the tank and between the tank and the box. It would be wise to use one inside the box if you are planning on keeping the water level high enough to reach the bulkheads from the tank.

Ok good, yeah I plan on moving the tank at least once w/in the next year, when I buy a house, then who knows how many times till I find the right place for it in the house ::) ;D
Plus as said I really don't want that much in tank space eaten up by the Bean.

    Thanks guys.
