I have an Iwaki wmd40rlxt external pump which gets pretty hot to the touch. Is this normal?

    Thanks in advance

If you put your hand on the hub at the end of the motor can you feel air blowing ? Sounds to me that the air inlet and or the fan blade is clogged with lint and dust rabbits LOL Now if its making a whining sound then it could be a bearing seizing up on it..

The metal housing will be warm to hot. I think my md100rlt is warm, my wife with her cat paws thinks it is hot. If it is still quiet, all is probably normal as long as you go through Tangster's quick check. The wet end should not be hot. Now the housing on my 1.5hp return pump gets quite toasty...
