I'm not to sure I trust the sicce pumps. Seems a lot of people are having problems with them. A lot of the cheerleaders on RC have been finding work-arounds and customer service seems to be doing a good job of replacing the pumps that are defective but as time goes by (and warranties start to run out) there appears to be more and more failures.

What about the aqua c ev 180 or aqua c ev 240. Would these be better than the octopus or the pm redline

You should always oversize your skimmer.

Why you would spend the money on a Aqua C and still need to buy a pressure rated to pump? I think you should buy a the extreme since it not only will save you money up front, but also save you money in you power consumption. A Friend of mine has the 300 and the it is amazing the stuff it pulls out of his 180 Reef Tank which is plumbed in to a 100 sump. Save your money and buy the extreme.

Pump for Aqua C 240 run at Watts: 110. Amps: .92.
Pumps on 250 Extreme 2x30 watts

AquaC EV-240 is a good one. Also look at the ETSS 600XR. I run an older model ETSS and love it.
