    Yes, there are crabs that look like emeralds but are not and are not reef safe! True emeralds are safe (usually) to have. But it is fairly common for people to buy emeralds and end up with something else.

    I was also wondering this too, I heard the term "true emerald crab" and thought are there fake emerald crabs?, Mine does NOTHING. I swear I don't even know how it lives idk what it eats I haven't seen it eat algae.Especially not bubble algae.

    A lot of them are nocturnal, mine is mostly, he is very rarely out in the daytime. it'll pick at things in the night or in its place that it rests or hangs out.
