Fake Sand or Live Sand???

    The argment is, the bacteria in live sand is in spore form so doesn't need O2 to survive in the bag. Still i wouldn't bother if you are getting live rock anyway, as that will seed the sand and make it live.

    You want ARAGONITE sand, NOT silica sand!!!!!!! Live refers to bacteria and microfauna in the sand, so regardless how you start it will become "live". Same as rock. That's your bio-filter, ES MUY IMPORTANTE..

    Haha~fake sand
    umm u needa clean the sand 1st if u buy it from home depot~which i dont recommend because it gives off this stinky smell that even i cant stand not to mention fish. and it will probally take u a month to stablize it. or you can but much prettier sand from your LFS. much easier on your part.
