    Hello everyone.

I have a pair of ocellaris clowns. My father is insisting they need an anemone to host in. Fortunately I have been able to convince him against it. We aren't very experienced yet only been in this hobby for three months or so. Our tank is only 3 months mature too.

Are there artificial anemones that are realistic enough that clowns will host them? I know the likely hood of a clown hosting an anemone isn't great anyway, so I imagine them hosting an artificial anemone is even less.

Well - congrats on knowing when your over your head.... This already puts you step in the right direction. Clowns are funny - sometimes they will host the oddest of things, but I think you would be hard pressed to get them to host a fake anem. What I would do is - just get a few books, read some info, and make a choice as to if you think its something you could handle. One important thing I stress is - read a FEW books.. Not just one, these books are written by people and what may work for one person it may not work for you. Thats what I always recommend reading a few, talking to diff people, reading diff posts/forums, etc.. Get a gaggle of info and come up with a synopsis.

    (holly horrible spelling batman!)

Best of luck my friend! Remember - no rush.

I have 4 clowns, they host my pulsing xenias, frogspawn, leather, and hammer. They are not picky !! They lay eggs on frogspawn or hammer branches.

Sometimes it just takes them a bit of time.
