False percula turning black?

    One of my clowns is getting darker looks like its turning black is this normal?

    yeah it is. is it paired up? i've seen an example where a black ocellaris paired up with an orange one and the orange one is now half black half orange. dont worry; its normal

    +1. It's normal but do you have a pair? if not i still don't see a difference; the clown ca turn darker over time. for example, I have a half black half orange ocellaris. Eventually it can become completely black

    Yes they are a mated pair the orange one is smaller and the orangish black one is bigger i assume from what i have read its the female? ill try to post a picture

    o ok so dont worry its normal and probably happening because they're together most of the time like most pairs are. and yes the female is larger

    it is just becoming more mature... Do you know where they are from? If im not mistaken, percs taken from the Solomon Islands usually have a good bit more black on them than percs from other places.

    I have also noticed them turning more of a burnt orange in teh past. usually a sign of a healthy fish that is maturing.

    incidentally, I had a pair of captive bred gold strip maroons that when I sold them, the female was almost black. in this photo, she was the same color as the male.
