Xenia, when i had the 1st small frag it took 2 months b4 fragging i was like nice! But now there are 8 or so decent size ones and they frag every 3 weeks.

Is there a way to separate my xenia from live rock with out killing it?

Xenia and my Colt. My mushrooms aren't growing for some reason. I think my lighting is too intense so I just moved them into the shade. My first rock of zoas declined but my nitrate was really high at the time. Now my water parameters are excellent and I have upgraded lighting. I bought a few new zoa rocks, a monti cap, a monti digitata and a green slimer. We'll see how these do.

As far as fragging the Xenia goes it's quite easy. Get a small plastic container and fill it with small pieces of rubble rock and set it on the bottom of your tank. Get some scissors and cut the xenia pieces and place them in the container. In a few days most of them will attach to a piece of rubble. The xenia on the main colony will grow new polyps where it was cut within a few weeks and continue growing. You can't kill them.

Now if I could only find a way to get colt frags to attach to a rock. Suggestions?

Tank.. as long as I have food for the tank! I'll just have to eat Rod's food. Might make a good sandwich spread. Tank over bills, because at least a tank relieves the stress of bills. GF.. I'll take the tank.. it may get parasites, Hair Algae and such.. but at least you can walk away from it, and you don't have to tell it to shut up. That goes for girls who have BF's too, I'm sure.
