    Hey everyone,
Its been a while since i posted, I'm having (think I'm Having) an issue with my yellow eye tang. It's stomach is really distended, almost looks like its pregnant. i dont have any pics but I'm concerned that it might not be a good thing. he is not stressed and doesnt seem to be anything wrong with him. he is still a happy go lucky tang. always moving and grazing.
please let me know if you need any other info and I'd be glad to answer your questions.

oh and the water quality is good and i feed frozen food every 2 days and pellets on the off days.

thank you for your help in advance. i just dont want him sick and getting the other livestock sick.

This may be swim bladder disease, I've heard of it happening with fish that are fed only pellets, but you seem to have a good balance of frozen to pellets.

Has it lost any buoyancy or begun to swim erratically or "drunken" like?

On occasion he does seem to smim like he is buzzed. It does make sense because there was a period of a couple weeks where i fed only pellets because my wife and i are expecting our first child and i spent a lot if not all my free time redoing the nursery. i have gotten back on track with the feedings, but is the damage done, is it reversable? I'm so upset because my lfs guy told me there wouldnt be any ill effects if I did that. I feel bad now.

I believe it is fairly rare to get it from pellets alone and I'll be honest, I've never had to fix swim bladder disease before in a fish. However, here's a link to one article, but I would strongly suggest seeing if anyone else has experience and see if anyone else could let you know if it is, indeed, swim bladder disease first.

I would recommend gathering a bit more information, snap a picture or two and see if anyone else (with a bit more experience than I) can help out a bit, before doing "home surgery"...

Best of luck, and if you're able, snap a few pictures and/or take a quick video.

    Cheers.
