    Thankee folks.

All the pvc pipe is 3/4", including the ball valve and the barbed fittings pointing north / south are 3/4".
Only the 4 ports are reduced to 1/2" ball valves thus 1/2" barbs.

    Skimmer issue

    The tank looks excellent now.
I also got some nice new adds from the LFS...
I'll get some pics up tonight or tomorrow evening.

Pre-sump - My hang on filter really wasn't doing a good enough job and the older maxi-jet pump for my TLF reactor running GFO kicked the bucket so that left me with quite a bit of red algae over the last few months.

It's really nice to finally have EVERYthing "downstairs" and utilize filtration from the sock when needed! (been running felts 24x7 for a week) The tank has accumulated quite a bit of detritus since the hang on wasn't taking care of it. I've been blasting the rocks with a baster all along but now the overflow is really getting it out when I do.
I manually removed about 97% of red algae as I could yesterday. It's pretty weak right now as I've been running a heap of GFO for a week in my new BRS Deluxe reactor which is awesome.

I cut the remora skimmer box in half since I didn't want to waste space, just the output side is being used, which is mainly for bubble trap and splashing reduction within the sump.

However, my hang Remora has it's been producing ZERO skim for the last 4 days.
ZERO. The bubbles are not even making it the last 3 inches up into the collection cup neck - the cup is BONE DRY.[/COLOR]

My sump is a 10 gal and my OF is running at probably 300 gal\hour so my turn over is a staggering 30x. (I'll get a smaller dia U Tube so "slow" the flow a bit soon too).

I figured the skimmer would work better now that it has access to "dirty" water constantly (after the felt sock of course) but it's not really working at all!
I added a TLF ball valve to it when I moved it to the sump since I've read folks report they saw better performance when they valved it back a bit using the Colbolt MJ1200 - So I valved it back a bit late last night for the first time, we'll see if it makes a diffrenece...

The skimmer has always produced light to dark colored tea, nothing too impressive. Not stinky either.
I have 2 sm\med Clowns, a sm\med Royal Gramma and a sm yellow tailed Damsel - also two sm\medium GBC Shrimp.
I feed spectrum pellets daily, Reef chili and\or Frozen PE mysis shrimp once a week.

Could the sump turn over thru the felt sock and GFO be capturing enough DOC's to the point my skimmer currently can't perform?

I JUST added carbon late last night - I haven't been running it for a many weeks.

    What do you folks think?

{I admittedly just started looking at the SCA-301 skimmer yesterday. Rated 65 gal. A BM NAC 3.5 clone
    It's only $90 on ebay... :devil1:

    Folks seem to be real happy with the popular larger SCA-303 model for a 150 tank. I've yet to see anything negative.}

    Thoughts on these BM clones?

Not sure about your skimmer issues- I've always used my Ebay 'SC150'- comes with the Atman 2500 pump/needle wheel, etc.- works awesome on my 125 + 50g sump.

You said 'My sump is a 10 gal and my OF is running at probably 300 gal\hour so my turn over is a staggering 30x. (I'll get a smaller dia U Tube so "slow" the flow a bit soon too).'

Maybe I'm missing something here, BUT, if you limit your return to the sump, you could be asking for a DT overflow.

Chalk one up for the SC150.

I want a smaller U tube so I can throttle the return back a bit AND get faster flow thru the U tube - Mainly, to prevent any bubble accumulation.
(That's why my turn over is massive, I have to keep the flow at this rate to keep all bubbles going thru the U tube)

Don't worry about an DT overflow. I have a 1000 GPH pump, going into a manifold - I'll just throttle back the return port to find a sweet spot.

    Thanks Todd.
