Here is a sneak peak of how the stain is coming along...

I went with a deep mahogany red. The pics are in the dark garage so it's either not enough light or too much to capture a pic of the actual color; just a few teaser shots anyway.

The stain is now done which will have to sit for about 2 days before the poly coats start since the humidity is like 90% round heya lately.

    thanks folks.

    :toilet:
...tank work has been on hold for a few days and will be for more, I'm renovating my bathroom this week.
I only have one so I decided to do it somewhat in 2 phases.
I also have a window in the shower which complicates things even more.

I'll be sure to post some pics when I'm back to the tank project.

The front panel needed more so I threw on the 3rd and 4th coats today.
Here is a wet pic of the 3rd coat.

The can of stain was almost empty so I used the rest for a quick coat on the back and front behind the door

Tested a bit of the satin poly I have which is a wipe on style on some scrap... goes on very, very light, not sure if I'll be using it.

I'm starting to consider the typical brush on style, in semi gloss to give it some depth from the thickness...

    Thoughts?
