    It's BRS reef saver. I order 50# so I probably used about 30# of it and 7# of local live. It's really nice stuff!

    Thankee folks.
    I'm excited now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the tank!

    Skyfire, I see you have a GSP, me too in my nano.

    So I'm a week into the cycle...
    Last Sunday I added 40# of live sand, 7# of live rock and 30# of dry rock.
    The next day, Monday, I added a bottle of BIO-Spira and Tues I added a large raw shrimp.

    Well, the shrimp was nasty so I removed it this afternoon and figured I'd start testing today...

    To my surprise...
    Ammonia = 0
    Nitrite = 0
    Nitrate = 12

    I totally expected to see ammonia after how decomposed that skrimp was. The BIO-Spira really must have the beneficial bacteria to breakdown ammonia & nitrite.

    I'll test for the next few days and see if it's stable or happens to rise.

    Regardless, it appears I may get thru the cycle faster then I anticipated...

    I would guess with the live rock and Biio-Spira it may have worked out well.

    Looking good! I really wish I would have gone bigger. There's always more rooms in the house tho ;)

    Update:

    Cycle is done. 1st inhabitants added last night.

    Two juvenile Ocellaris clowns.
    A mated pair of Golden Coral Banded Shrimp.

    Haven't bothered running the skimmer thus far but I'll hook it up tonight.
