This is the really my first venture into LPS, but I'm thinking it's not doing well.

The tentacles haven't come out at night in like about 7-10 days.
I've had it in my tank for 18, and the first week or so they were all out at night.

I've tried inducing it with Mysis and even some other stuff like phytoplankton and Rod's.

    Any ideas?
Do the tentacles stay put for times?

Here's a before and after; first day in tank and right now. I tried to get the same lighting, so that might be why it's a different shade of green or it might just be a little less bright. Not sure...
Is the red circled part tissue retraction, or something else maybe.

Hmmm, well it seemed "Happy" the first week.
I was feeding it little bits of Mysis at night, and now it hasn't come out in awhile.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What type of lighting is it under and where in the tank is it placed?

Favia's are hit and miss because they come from all over a reef system in the wild. How they are cultured (most times cut up and made into frags) plays a large role in their over all health when you receive your frag- it takes a very long time for a full colony to grow out, which is much smaller then the portion you receive from the LFS.

I really dont know what else to say- good water quality and good lighting- experiment with position in your tank- Favia's are tough because they can be very sensitive to everything in your reef- I keep my 3 colonies at various heights in my tank, I have found the darker they are the less light they need- which in turn determines placement in the long run.

This could be the problem, but the LFS gave me the "should be fine"
I have the 2 Bulb T5 HO lighting.

At the store, they said it should do well and actually doesn't like extreme lighting.
But who knows it they're right... They just work there.

Also, it's about half way up my tank, maybe 14-16 inches from the light.

    Edit:perhaps I don't have enough lighting

Heh, no, they require more light then this- far more. What are your tank's dimensions?

    4 Feet, 12 Inch.
    24 Inch High.

I'm probably going to add an additional 2 bulb fixture, would that make any diff?
