first day i put the frag in, the tips bleached a little under my MH.
Next day was doing much better, stopped bleaching and slowly regrew flesh.
5 days later (yesterday) the mouths were wide open... like farther than i have ever seen on any favia. i spot fed
today the mouths are visible but only open very slightly... BUT the skeleton looks like it is moving or separating and the whole coral has gained a lighter hue to it!

it has been about 3 inches off the substrate the whole time. do i move it higher? lower? spot feed again? Have never seen this before with my other favias so any suggestions would be very helpful!

I would drop it in the sand for a bit. Is there a way for you to take a picture?

It's possibly a fungal infection which can be stopped by an Iodine dip. However, if I'm wrong, this same dip could stress an already-stressed coral. Can you use your good camera tomorrow for a better pic?

im at college so no. i will try and borrow a friends camera though.

I took this frag form my dads large colony in his tank. his colony is doing quite fine so i am unsure if it is a fungus. my other favia and all other corals are not showing signs of distress
