Feather Duster acting strange

Today our feather duster started coming about halfway out of his tube for some reason. He's definitely alive and our water parameters are perfect. He's been in the tank for a few months with no issues at all. He got picked on a bit by one of his tank mates which was given to the LFS today so its no longer an issue. I think the fish may have damaged the tube but not much, just picked at him a little. The crown is full and not damaged and he still retracts back in as usual. What could it be doing?

 

Maybe it's just timid. Give it a few days for it to realize it won't be picked on anymore.

 

Okay now it's hanging lifeless out of his tube if you put your hand in the tank he does not go back into his tube he is open but not as open as he usually looks. Is he dying or is he dead?

Okay now his feathers are gone they floated up to a rock and he is going slowly back into his tube does anyone have any ideas?

well one of mine did something kinda like yours..it dropped its crown and I thought it was going to die next....sooo I just left it in the tank and in a few days it popped out with a new crown..its been doing good ever since... good luck,hope it works out for ya....

 

Thanks for the help we'll leave it in there to see how it does we hope it makes it!

 

just make sure its tube does not start to dissolve or change in any way.that could be a sign things are going bad....if so than maybe take it out...
