Feather duster been in my tank 2 months, every time it came out my cleaner shrimp would pounce on it, i knew it would stress it out and now its dropped its plume, other than this i can't see why else it would do it all params are good, only thing i can think of besides is my water went cloudy for 12 hours, after i added seachem calcium stabiliser, what can i feed it in the meantime and if it was my cleaner shrimp they i fear it will die, i cant' see him letting it be, any ideas?

It's okay, they release them and grow new ones quite frequently (anytime it feels stressed). It will grow a new one in a few weeks time... might be small at first, but it will get back to the same original size. NO need to worry about it starving- like most marine inverts, they're quite hardy when it comes to lack of food.

Try feeding your cleaner shrimp now and then lol ;)- but I know how you feel- my cleaner shrimp is also a gluttonous(sp?) bastard

Phayes is right, they do shed their "feathers" at times. If the tube looks healthy and is straight, its still alive. If you see that its droopy or it has lost its "straightness", then consider him in feather duster heaven. Luna

Funny you should say that luna, 2 months ago when i added him it was straight, then over a couple of days as it fixed it self to the live rock on the sand it started bending itself from halfway up vertical but stayed fine and healthy like this for 1 and half months?

Well that still sounds fine. Sounds like he's just afixing himself to a LR and benting to allow the "plume" to open fully. I dont think he's dieing, sounds more like he's getting comfortable with his new environment. He'll be fine. Luna
