Well, first off I don’t know if I am posting this in the right place so I apologize. Anyway, I have a feather duster that has been in my tank for about 9 months and right now I don’t know if it’s alive or dead. For the past two days I have not seen its feathers but when I felt the tubing it did not seem empty. I decided to check my salinity and it was about 1.027 so I dumped allot of RO in to lower to 1.025. I read that salinity fluctuations affect feather dusters. What are your suggestions?

    Thanks.

Feather dusters will occationally drop their head/ feather/ whatever you call it and make a new one. i had 2 at one point and they would be missing their feather for a week or 2 at a time and then just pop out again. thats my expierence with feather dusters.

They are tough IMO they either do well or die. Give it a few days and see what happens.
