    I had a feather duster as a hitchhiker and im trying to figure out how my tank is cycling. It should in theory have died? I also just had a diatom bloom.

    How old is the tank--a diatom bloom usually means you are close to the end

    Its a little over a week. I planned on picking up a small CUC today.

    Whoa--slow down---you are not even close--how big is your tank??? mine is 150 and took 8 weeks

    Nitrate 10 ppm
    Salinity 1.025
    temp 78 degrees

    looks like you are getting there but I would give it a little more time before I would call it cycled
