Well After several months It appears I have a feather duster growing in my rock work, I'm guessing its a feather duster looks like it has a tube and radiole. I'll try and get pictures later, But my question is will it be happy with some Kent Zooplex i have or does it do better with phyto?

I've had featherdusters for years and have never target-fed any of them. They are filter-feeders and will get plenty of nourishment if you are feeding fish in the same tank.

Agreed. Nice filter feeders that do not require your attention to survice. Just enjoy them. Tho I will agree with you .... pictures pictures pictures !

We purchased 3 of the large ones last year. We ended up getting some peppermint shrimp and I think they ate them. Anyway, now our sump is full of them. they're attached to the skimmer\ inside the skimmer, outside the skimmer, in all sections of the fuge\return section. There's gotta be at least 50, and my guess is that they're probably awesome little filters. I wish I could get them to grow in all my tanks like that.

I've heard that if they grow the tube long enough that you can carefully cut the base of the parchment like near the rock and transplant them else where, but don't go hacking away because of me. it's just rumor stuff. this ones in a good spot so i dont have any need to move him. But i hope it's one of those dwarf pink colored feather dusters that foster and smith have... I want one of those pretty bad but cant figure buying $20 worth of invert/fish then spending $50 on shipping.

That's awesome! You mean the big ones are growing in your fuge? or the small guys?

big ones. really it's a fuge section, not a true fuge since the only thing in there is feather dusters. No lighting or anything. I'll try to get a pic on my camera phone.

The pics are a little crappy, but check it out. I tried to get some pics of the feather dusters actually opened, but when i open the cabinet, they close. There's no rock or anything down there, everything is attached to the glass or plastic on the devices.

Whoa! Never seen that before. You should see if you can detach one and get it to survive in the main section of the tank.
