I wish I could have had a more positive attitude about all this. Sorry for your loss man. It sucks. I was starting to feel like maybe I was wrong and the other poster's advise would be right! The sand burying thing sounded like an awesome idea. But it was probably just a lot of stress, not necessarily because of anything you did. Remember, for the most part the saltwater animals we buy in the fish stores are caught from the ocean. Caught, shipped sometimes thousands of miles (in bags), to the wholesalers, then shipped AGAIN. The whole process can be very stressful. Especially on certain individuals. And each animal is an individual. Two feather dusters are not two feather dusters, they are each one feather duster with a different tolerance on such stresses. I have had many trials and errors and you will too. Don't feel too bad. It is a part of life that sometimes no matter what our nitrates read, or how long our tank has been running, just happens. My tank has been going strong for 4 years now and I am STILL fighting some of the same battles you will encounter. But the rewards of just looking at your tank, and admiring its beauty, will keep you going. KARMA to you for this experience. I just don't want you to feel like it was completely your wrong doing.

Thanks all who replied. Have had our tank running for many years and you still have to expect this to happen. Don't ya just hate it when it does tho.
