I have never fed my feather duster. They are filter feeders. My feather duster dropped it's crown when I moved the rock he is on, but it grew back in like 2 weeks.

Its common for feather dusters to lose their crown when stressed or freightened. I would just do what you normally do and it will be fine. However it is not important to target feed them because they live off dissolved organics in the water column. I would be more interested in what caused it to lose its crown. Is there any carnivores in your tank? Did you do anything different to your tank recently?

Target feeding filter feeders is uneccesary IMO and will only add nitrates and phosphates to your tank!!! They will survive by feeding on DOM solely and do very nicely!
Geekdafied hit it on the head, no pun intended! hahahah
