feather duster?

    Actually, feather dusters have a very low survivability rate. Due to starvation.... Also, spot feeding by directly shooting food at the mouth or, topside of the crown is next to useless. They feed from the bottomside of the crown eating very small particulates from the sandbed. The reason that they normally starve is, food commonly offered to them is often too large for them to eat.

    I have never spent extra care on the "mini" dusters in my system.

    well the big one was really small had him since i started the tank and is growing nicely i'll see if i could get a pic

    thinking of getting a big colorful one is this a good idea

    I've been following this thread wondering that exact question. I think they're neat. Do they need a well established tank?

    Can they get by without direct feeding? Does it depend on the species?

    How large a tank is recommended?

    OMG! I might have attempted a hijack :eek: Nah, +K DRCool for asking!

    Thanks Pack. It does for me. I'm running a few month old 55. Not rushing out to get one, but it tells me I ought to take the time to research them as I can give it a shot!

    I have heard if it is a well estalished tank there would be enough stuff in th ewater column for them to survive. I have had mine for about 4 months and put phyto in the tank and he seems happy....I will go to Perhills thread and speak on how they make there tubes.
