    My feather dust looks like it got a hair cut recently....It was doing good for a long time now haven't added anything new and just recently seen it is about half as long as it use to be. 001.JPG

    they sometimes shed their crowns , spawing is one reason so they dont consume their own off spring - but also if they are threatened and also of the crown gets damaged by flow etc as this makes it less effective at catching food, so they discard old crown and a new one grows , it takes a few weeks , but eventually they get back to former glory

    Also, some fish "nip" at the crowns. What kind of fishes do you have?

    I have 1 Yellow Tang, 2 Blue and yellow damsles, a Lawnmore Blenny, and a pepperment shrimp.....I did blast it with the powerhead when I was moving the powerhead....will one shot do this.....and thanks again for the info

    I dont see any "culprits" in your list. If your paras are fine, then its what Steve mentioned.

    oh yeah one blast will do it , the feathers get creased and folded backwards , making the net less efficient , the Duster recognises this and drops it and starts a new net
