    Hey all,

Just bought my first feather duster andwanted to know how to get it attached to its new home and where to put it. Does it need to be in a hole or can it just lay on top of LR? thank you. can it touch the rock with its FEathers

You can stick it in a hole in your lr or in the sand, which ever you like. I don't like for my coco worm to touch anything it just me.

Try placing it in hole and see if it likes it. It will attach to a place it likes and feels safe. The feathers can touch rock, it will grow away from contact.

im not sure It is not extremely hard. plyable, but definately holds it shape. It is fairly long about 6 in. how will i know it likes where it is? can it move on its own to a place it wants. and will moving it around stress/kill it?

In the substrate/sandbed, it will get more food. Somewhere that has a low flow.

yea thats fine in the sand. I have one I put into rockwork about a year ago and as I was adding more rocks, I couldnt relocate it. it shred its crown from being pestered.. so its permanently attached behind my rock wall out of sight. the new one I just buried it in the sand like so:
