feather dusters everywhere?

    my skimmer has been taken over by these things.. they look like feather dusters

    i also find them on my back glass and return section of my sump.


    what should i do? they seem harmless. just kind of an eye soar.

    They are mini dusters. You can leave them or scrape them off.

    You probably will have to scrape them off once in a while. While they're great for removing particles from the water they can form layers an inch or more thick under good conditions and that will affect the performance of the skimmer.
