here is my idea for the setup, the canopy will overhang the tank with supports only on one end and have an anchoring system that I have put together to prevent sagging .

    Look Possible ?????
    Tank is a 40B

the Black circle on the end or tank is an MP20

it looks very possible to me.

you didn't describe the anchoring system but you might need an angled support in the corner of the "L" kind of like a gallows.

the anchoring system is wire rope attached to hooks on top of the unsupported end, then they will be pulled back through a series of eye hooks and secured to hooks on the back of the stand facing the wall. if you dont understand let me know and i will draw it up.

Thats very doable, and better yet once it's done it's gonna be an awesome looking display... make sure we do a detailed build thread for this please :joker:
You never know it might move me to convert my sump into a similar setup :)

oh ok that makes sense, what kind of lighting are you gonna be using? t5's? metal halide? just wondering because the light spillage might be a lot depending how you mount them in the hood.

I like!!!! Especially if you do a peninsula style drill job on it, and run all the plumbing down the one end (Out of sight). This will definately be unique. I would put 2 250w halides in the canopy.

I like the peninsula style plumbing idea for sure, but a 40 breeder is not that deep, I would do a pair of 150w MH's and you should be able to keep anything you want in it.
