I have never had a lot of lick feeding my prior tank the dried algee sheets. I am trying it again, but is there a trick to it? I have 1 tang, so i rip a sheet like 2-3inches by 1inch wide. I am always told to roll it up, so i do, then clip one end in a clip and stick it about 3-4 inches from the top of my tank. I clip one end it and in the water it winds up straightnign out and blowing around. Is this how it should be done?

I just use a vegi clip and let let it hang,.
Both Tangs go nuts on it when I put it in.

I had tried the screen protector that came with the clip, but they never went near it.
Try hanging it instead of rolling it to see what happens.

    Cheers

Hello - I think I can help you out.

I use a veggie clip and I fold the sheet into 5x5 or so and in it goes....no fuss no muss. They wolf it down within an hour.

In the past I had a tang that wasn't so interested in it, but they time he started sniffing around it was mushing apart. So I used broccoli on the veggie clip - I could leave that there for a couple of days. He quickly learned that what I was hanging was pretty damn tasty. Within a week he would visit the veggie clip post haste. Let me know if it works for you....g'luck.

Man I had about the same problem you are having. I got my tang and he wouldnt touch the stuff. I would leave it in there for a few hours and nothing but at the same time he was eating the algae off the rock all day. I tried the garlic method as well and he still wouldnt touch it. What I did was I ripped a say 2 inch by 2 inch peice off and stuck it in a little crevice in the live rock and as he grazed he finally got to it. It still took him a day or so to find it. Then I put it in the veggie clip and he still was kind of shy about it but a few days later he goes nuts for the stuff, eating it all day. If that doesnt work, you r just gonna have to get crative with it. maybe put it somewhere he likes to hang out or put the clip in differnet places. I'm sure eventually he will go after it. Just gotta be patient and persistent.

I like that idea.. I've been folding my part of a sheet, tight and putting the whole thing underwater..
But, he'a like a Pit bull.. ( Sailfin Tang ) ..Rips it off in hours..
I now fold it tight and only put 1/2 in the water..
Maybe it'll last longer,, Good idea..
