I have a 180g tank with 15 fish here is the roster:

    - Purple Tang
    - Powder Blue Tang
    - Pacific Blue Tang
    - Naso Tang
    - Queen Angel
    - Emperor Angel
    - Fire Angel
    - Blenny
    - Hawkfish
    - Dotty
    - 2 x Black Percula Clowns
    - Ornate Christmas Wrasse
    - Diamond Goby
    - ?

My wife likes to feed them 3 times a day like a couple of our books say. The guy at the LFS says one cube every other day. My wife feeds 2 cubes 2-3 times daily.

Here is their usual meal 3 times per day:

    1 x cube mysis
    1 x cube brine
    couple drops of garlic
    a little shreded nori

The fish are fat, they look great but I think we are overfeeding them. We have heard different rules like the right amount is whatever takes them 3 min to eat. How much should I be feeding my fish?

Also I have issues with the powder blue tang, he has black ich. no one else is suffering from ich. He started off having white ich then it all went away and the black started to appear. I dont have a QT tank. I have a lot of coral in the tank i do not want to disturb by catching him. can I ride this out by increasing the temp, lower salt, and feed frequently?

    Please help guys.

although it is a 180G tank, I would like to think that it is overstocked.. the feeding of 2-3 times daily is going to cause problems in the long run.. overfeeding your tank enriches the nutrients in your tank which algae will need to grow and thrive.. i hope you have a very good skimmer to keep up with all that bioload.. I'm going assume that your set up has been up for a long period of time with all that livestock.. if not, then you're going to run into a trouble very soon, having such a large bioload can lead to your tank crashing.. i would strongly suggest feeding at most once a day, or feeding once every 2 days.. make sure they get their veggie and their protein needs..
the black ich you are referring to is most likely a scars from the ich spots that your tang have fought off, they should disappear

Wow, a Queen Angel and an Emperor Angel with corals. That's rare I think. Do they bother your corals at all? I would love to have an Emperor Angel. A 180g is a good size tank, how do you feel about your fish? Do you think they're cramped? Take everything with a grain of salt. One thing that is for sure a Powder Blue is a weak fish and gets sick way too easily for my taste. If you can have cleaner shrimp without them being lunch they would help your Powder Blue out. I'm going to be moving up to either a 180g or 210g All Glass setup and then I'll have the room for more fish. My bioload is near capacity. My fish are growing and they need a new home. This hobby does that to you. I feed my fish 2 or 3 times a day plus I feed my Sun Coral cyclopeeze at night. The way I do it is I change the floss daily. I know it's not the right way but it keeps my water parameters in check. It's just more work. I also clean out my skimmer daily as it kicks out some skimmate. Most of the time the food is gone fast like 1 minute so I guess probably it's close to the same as a 3 minute feed. I also clip on some marine algae for the tangs and angels. I get this stuff called instant brime. The chromis and anthais like it and gobble them up like Pacman it's funny!:cheesy: I don't know what kind of filtration you have but I'm sure you have some kind of floss. Hey, don't quote me on this. It's up to you after all it's your tank and your fish. My fish want to jump out of the tank when they see me. haha... Here's a picture of my Sun Coral right after I fed him.

I would suggest switching out some of the meat for veggies. With all those tangs you should be going through nori like its no ones business. Veggies should make up the majority of their diet.
Also, you will need to get a specialty angel food for the angels that is fortified with marine sponges, or they may have complications down the road.
As for the ich, the powder tangs are absolute magnets for it. Keep the water prestine, and keep it well fed, and it will hopefully pull through.

I agree! Tangs and Angels like their greens. They now have Formula Two flakes that they love along with Spiralina flakes. Just put small amounts in and let them devour them completely. It seems to go easier on the bioload that way. IMAO
