Hi Adam - sometimes fish dont recognise the food stuffs we put in for them - its not their natural diet . they do eat a lot of algae, many dwarf angels do, you can see their mouth prints on tank walls that have not be cleaned recently

Im pretty sure he/she will come around to eating the commercial foods you put in for it ,
often new fish, pick up on what resident fish are doing and follow suite

give it time and as long as he looks well rounded you should be OK

try a drop of garlic extract on the prerared foods, this can stimulate a feeding repsonce

I use a mixture of Rod's food and a cube of the Ocean Nutrition Formula Two (for angels). Our coral beauty wouldn't eat the flakes at all, but she goes nuts over this stuff. She also picks at the rocks all day and will pick at an algae clip.

My Coral Beauty will take Ocean Nutrition Formula Two also and does eat seaweed from the clip. He actually has to fight his way to the clips before my two Blue Tangs eat it all. Im pretty sure I have seen him eat some flakes, but he sure doesnt prefer them.
