Feeding Duncans

    Can you overfeed duncans? Mine eat about 3 times a day.

    How do you get away with that? They don't feed off the light so what you feed them is all they get.

    Duncanopsammia are photosynthetic. Are you sure you're referring to the correct coral? I feed mine occasionally, whenever I think about it. 3 times a day seems like a lot.

    They are in the same group as other non-photosynthetic corals that looks similar, are you maybe thinking of tubastrea or dendrophyllia?

    Even if we are talking dendros or sun polyps (or any other NPS) no way should they be fed 3 times a day. If the overfeeding doesn't kill them then the nasty fouled up water will. I feed my NPS 3 times a week max.

    i target feed mine every couple days

    i feed my duncans once every 3 weeks or so

    it most recently ate a chopped up blenny and a chopped up 6line wrasse.

    They are duncans. Ill stop feeding them as often. Figured they would grow faster by spot feeding mysis. Water quality has never been an issue in my tank. Knock on wood. Thank you for the help
