You can feed them just like any other fish :) They do love to graze on algae and will appreciate for Macro algae or Nori every now and again.

Do you have a lot of rock and algae for the Fox face to graze on?

What John said plus any frozen food made for algae eaters and you should be set.

You don't have any aggressive fish do you?
Fox Faces are spooked pretty easily and they will turn black and white and hide. I had one and he would hide when anyone came in the room that wasn't my girlfriend or I. I liked it though. Very peaceful grazer - very pretty too.

Glad you like the site. Thanks for joining! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

ok, thanks guys. i have some rocks but not much compared to other tanks with the same size (4x2x2). i like the look of an open reef and i guess i can always add more rocks if i ever need it.
yup, it's a beauty have read somewhere about it being algae eaters (more of a herbivore). i like the idea of having livestocks that can help me out with the algae.

    Welcome to the site Bob

Alright I have a question.  I have been looking at foxfaces for a while now but most all of the ones I see at the LFS have very poor coloring.  The yellow is more brownish/blackish.  I have been told that it could be because of lack of veggies or from copper used in LFS systems.  I think Matt may have hit the nail on the head with the easily spooked thing.  What are the opinions around here?

A good example of what the foxface looks like when trying to camoflage is here

    http://www.jciaquariums.com/livestock/marine/page_02.htm

The first two pictures show the normal colouring and the third shows what it looks like when trying to hide.

I had one for quite a while and they change colouring often, depending on what is happening around them.

    Thank you John

That is very similar to what most the Foxfaces I see in the LFS look like. Is this a fish that is better off not in a tank that is around children?

Depends on the children I guess. If they bang on the glass shouting " Look it's Nemo and Dori " then yes.

They do tend to settle down after a while, but it is freaky seeing it change for the first time. I was sure mine was dying , crouched in the corner, brown and white spots, fins sticking out -)
