all of this feeding can have reprocussions. Anything you put in that tank has to come out one way or another. The fact of the matter is, the majority of our photosynthetic corals do just fine under lights only without being "fed" They also catch food every time you feed your tank. This sorta thing (over feeding) is what causes those nice hair algae explosions. If you want your corals to eat, get some good quality all around food like "rods" and use that.

You don't have to over feed, to feed mushrooms.. They will only eat if they want to..
And what not eaten, removed from the tank..
I cut up raw shrimp sometimes squid, Put a small chunk, first smashed with my finger to make it soft..
Right over there mouth.. 2 to 3 times a week.. AND they do have a big mouth..
once open, very small looking when closed..

They can eat slow, so if you have other fish, etc.. watch them. I also do my candycanes, and plate coral the same way..
They will only eat if they want to.. It takes time but they do good..
Real young mushrooms want do this.. Some will fold around the shrimp and eat, some will just lay there and suck it down.. But then again, I have more time then most people to spend feeding..

    Good Luck Larry
