Feeding my Acan head.

I recently bought a one head acan frag and it has its mouth open and tentacles up every night. I feed it brine shrimp like 4 days ago and after about 2 hours its mouth and tentacles were open and looking for more food. I cut up a small piece of krill and placed it in its mouth and it closed really fast but couldn't close completely around the piece of krill. A little bit is sticking out the top.

Should I be concerned? Or will it eventually just digest some of it and eat the rest?

I just do not want to get stressed and I didn't want to grab the piece out of its mouth either.

No they do this, just give the little pig some time to devour it.

Think of the size of the piece of food compared to it's stomach, one feeding per night is usually all it can handle. It may digest what it has and then go for the next piece or just discard the piece it's holding onto. I wouldn't worry about it now and just let it go.

 

LOL, leave it alone and it will eventually eat the hole thing. As far as feeding them once a night, feed the little pigs all that they will take and they will repay you with tons of growth and new heads. I feed mine every other night and over the span of about an hour or so. I will feed them when ever they open their mouths.

 

lol speaking of pigs, my shrimp would rip it out of the acan before you could blink....hate that lil guy
