Have a 100 gal display tank. Currently have:

    Medium Sailfin Tang
    small Yellow watchman Goby
    small Banded Goby
    2 small Perculas
    medium Lawnmower Blenny
    2 blue Jaw Triggers
    medium copperbanded butterfly

The food I have - I made up my own frozen food consisting of:
Fresh clams, shrimp, scallops, brine shrimp, blood worms, krill, dried nori. Along with a little bit of RO water I finely chopped up the mix in a blender and froze the mix in ziplock bags - thin so I could cut off small blocks.

Dried Nori - the stuff from the grocery store used for sushi.

    Question 1:
So I am wondering how often and how much... I have been feeding a cube about 3/4" square once a day along with about a 2"x2" thin sheet of the nori once a day (even the triggers are eating the nori). This has caused no water problems and while I think the fish would be happy to eat more they look healthy with this schedule. So thoughts? Does this seem like the right amount?

    Question 2:
Ive had the Copperbanded butterfly for a month now. Great fish. I had many small tube worms when he was added and there are none left - which is fine. I have tried putting a small piece of frozen food (my mix) inside of mesh netting wrapped around a rock at the bottom of the tank for periods of time in hopes he would eat from it - with no luck. Bristle worms love this method but he doesn't seem to. I watch him a lot and he seems to constantly be picking at the live rock, sand etc.. When the frozen food is put into the tank all the fish except him go into a feeding frenzy. He doesn't seem phased by it at all. So Im worried about him. I see him picking at things but never eating out of the water. Anyone have experience with this fish? Are there signs I should look for to verify he is getting fed? Other methods to try? I still have 3 medium sized aptasias in my tank that he has not touched... There are no signs of small aptasia... either he or the peppermints have taken care of the 2 or 3 I used to have.

    Thanks!

I will answer both questions as follows

the shape of your fish, will tell you all you need to know about their feed QTY
if the belly area appears shrunken/ concave, then by all means up the amount or frequency of your feeding, if they appear nicely rounded and your parameters are in check then your doing nothing wrong IME

The copperband, I had one that loved frozen blood worms - so maybe try just bloodworms in the mesh attached to rock to start with and then go through all the different items you have available and see if something triggers a feeding frenzy
but again, provided the fish looks well rounded and not skinny, it may be finding enough natural items in the tank at present and hence not hungry enough to compete at feeding time

    Great explanation Steve.
